Turn away from the bull, its choicest morsels dyed
with saffron, to a lump of dried curds.

وَالحَتفُand death مِثلُlike غَمامٍa cloud جادَpoured abundantly وابِلُهُits downpour

وَالناسُ يُدعَونَ لَو أَغنى الدُعاءُ قَطِ
And death is like a cloud whose downpour falls abundantly,
and people are called upon—if calling ever availed.

until it drowns the earth’s inhabitants with drops.

for we are but refuse in this world.
