الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ قَد أَصبَحتُ في دَعَةٍ

الحَمدُ لِلَّهِ قَد أَصبَحتُ في دَعَةٍ

أَرضى القَليلَ وَلا أَهتَمُّ بِالقوتِ

أَرضى القَليلَ وَلا أَهتَمُّ بِالقوتِ

Praise be to God: I have come to live at ease.

Praise be to Allah, I have attained tranquility,

I am content with little and do not worry about sustenance.

I am content with little and do not worry about livelihood,

وَشاهِدٌ خالِقي أَنَّ الصَلاةَ لَهُ

وَشاهِدٌ خالِقي أَنَّ الصَلاةَ لَهُ

أَجَلُّ عِندِيَ مِن دُرّي وَياقوتي

أَجَلُّ عِندِيَ مِن دُرّي وَياقوتي

And my Creator is witness that prayer to Him

And my Creator knows that prayer to Him

Is more precious to me than my pearls and rubies.

Is more precious to me than my pearls and rubies,

وَلا أُعاشِرُ أَهلَ العَصرِ إِنَّهُمُ

وَلا أُعاشِرُ أَهلَ العَصرِ إِنَّهُمُ

إِن عوشِروا بَينَ مَحبوبٍ وَمَمقوتِ

إِن عوشِروا بَينَ مَحبوبٍ وَمَمقوتِ

Nor do I keep company with the people of this age, for they,

I do not socialize with people of this age, for they are

If one associates with them, are either beloved or loathed.

Whether associated with a beloved or hated one,

يَسيرُ بي وَبِغَيري الوَقتُ مُبتَدِراً

يَسيرُ بي وَبِغَيري الوَقتُ مُبتَدِراً

إِلى مَحَلٍّ مِنَ الآجالِ مَوقوتِ

إِلى مَحَلٍّ مِنَ الآجالِ مَوقوتِ

Time carries me and others, hastening,

Time passes me and others swiftly

Toward an appointed destination at the end of our lives.

To an appointed term of life.
