And if they escape unharmed, be safe yourself.

    Can these mortals escape

    the black, lightless gloom?

    a champion bearing insignia,

who dyes the heads of foes

    with something like indigo.

And how many mature steeds have been outstripped by

the course of ever-young, inexorable Time!

they turn aside at the landmark.

    وَإِن جَهِلوا فَاِحلَمِ

    If they grow greedy, be content;

and if they act foolishly, be forbearing.

So if my fault becomes apparent,

then tell my companion: "Blame me."
