Nights that find no respite from calamities;
Nights that do not awaken from afflictions,
So woe to me for their wonders, and woe to me!
Alas for its wonders that make me cry out.

Their lions turned a lion into prey,
Its lions have become ferocious lions again,
And their wolf brought death to Abu Dhu'ayb.
And its wolves have killed my father Dhuwayb.
