Never store up sustenance for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

For every day comes with its sustenance.

And store up kindness for the least sustenance you obtain,

And for the Resurrection—you will recognize all of that.

Distribute your inherited wealth as you wish, holding it in contempt,

For it does not shed its tears behind the bier.

And do to another what you would like him to do to you,

And let people hear what you would choose to hear.

And most people are like the wolf you keep company with:

When weakness becomes apparent in you, it feeds him.
