فَجائِزٌ أَن يُرَوا ساداتِ أَقوامِ
Never scorn little ones in their playgrounds,
Do not belittle children at play,
For they may be seen as leaders of peoples.
For they may become leaders of men one day.
وَأَكرِمواand honor الطِفلَthe child عَنfrom نُكرٍan insult يُقالُis said لَهُto him
وَأَكرِموا الطِفلَ عَن نُكرٍ يُقالُ لَهُ
فَإِنfor if يَعِشhe lives يُدعَhe will be called كَهلاًa middle-aged man بَعدَafter أَعوامِyears
فَإِن يَعِش يُدعَ كَهلاً بَعدَ أَعوامِ
And honor the child, sparing him any insult spoken to him,
Honor the child though low his station,
For if he lives, he will be called a middle-aged man after some years.
For with time he'll be called an elder of the nation.

And do not sleep, heedless of the world and its deceit;
Do not neglect the world and its allure,
But if you refuse, then be the best of sleepers.
But if you must, be the best of those asleep and secure.

حَتّى تَعُدّوا ذَوي فِطرٍ كَصَوّامِ
Never wrong a single one of its children,
Do not oppress anyone ever,
So that you regard nonfasters as you would a habitual faster.
Until you can claim piety like those who fast and persevere.
