أُكذُبُها وَهيَ تُحِبُّ الكِذاب
My soul and I are forever in a tug-of-war.
I and my soul are ever in conflict
I lie to her, and she loves lies.
I lie to it, though it loves lies

If I enter the Fire, I have a Creator
If I enter the fire, I have a Creator
who lifts from me the heavy burdens of torment.
Who will lift from me the burdens of punishment

He is able to settle me in a garden
where sweet waters spread far and wide.
Wherein flow streams of pain's oblivion

I am not fed pus in its depths,
I will not feed the two washers in its depth

Nor will I wander with the molten lava
