تَسريحُreleasing كَفِيَّmy hand بُرغوثاًa flea ظَفِرتُI laid hold بِهِof it
أَبُرُّmore righteous مِنthan دِرهَمٍa dirham تُعطيهِyou give it مُحتاجاa needy person
My hand's release of a flea I have caught
My hand releasing a flea I had captured
Is more righteous than a dirham you give someone in need.
Is dearer than giving a coin to one in need
لاno فَرقَdifference بَينَbetween الأَسَكَّthe earless الجَونِthe black أُطلِقُهُI release it
وَجَونِand Jawn كِندَةَof Kinda أَمسىhas come to be يَعقُدُhe binds on التاجاthe crown
There is no difference between the earless black flea I release
No difference between freeing the light brown prisoner
And Jawn of Kinda, who now binds on the crown.
Or the darkcomplected Kindah wearing a crown
كِلاهُماboth of them يَتَوَقىguards himself وَالحَياةُand life لَهُto him
حَبيبَةٌdear وَيَرومُand he seeks العَيشَliving مُهتاجاagitated
Both guard themselves, and life to each
They both desire life and it is dear to them
Is dear, and each seeks, agitated, to live.
A beloved thing while seeking life ardently
