لَقَدindeed طالَhas grown long الزَمانُtime عَلَيَّfor me حَتّىuntil
غَدَوتُI have become وَليand I have إِلىtoward الدُنياthis world رُكونُan attachment
Indeed, time has stretched so long for me that
I have grown attached to this world.
فَلاso I must not أُغرَرbe deceived إِذاif أَجَليmy appointed end خَطانيpasses me by
سَيَأتيwill come المَوتُdeath أَغفَلَmost heedless ماwhen أَكونُI am
So I must not be deceived if my appointed end passes me by:
Death will come when I am most heedless.

And a body, mere dust, will join the earth,
Stillness having settled upon its movements.
