إِذا أَنتَ لَم تَحضَر مَعَ القَومِ مَسجِداً

إِذا أَنتَ لَم تَحضَر مَعَ القَومِ مَسجِداً

فَصَلِّ إِلى أَن يَقضِيَ الجُمعَةَ الجَمعُ

فَصَلِّ إِلى أَن يَقضِيَ الجُمعَةَ الجَمعُ

If you do not attend a mosque with the people,

If you do not join the people at the mosque

then pray until the congregation finishes the Friday prayer.

Then pray until the gathering finishes its Friday prayer

وَلا تَأَمَنَن أَن يَحشُرَ اليَومَ رَبُّهُ

وَلا تَأَمَنَن أَن يَحشُرَ اليَومَ رَبُّهُ

لَهُ بَصرٌ مِن قُدرَةٍ وَلَهُ سَمَعُ

لَهُ بَصرٌ مِن قُدرَةٍ وَلَهُ سَمَعُ

And never feel safe from the day being raised by its Lord,

And do not feel safe that your Lord will assemble you today

endowed through His power with sight and hearing,

For He has a vision by His power and hearing

فَيُخبِرَ بِالتَقصيرِ عَنكَ مُؤَنِّباً

فَيُخبِرَ بِالتَقصيرِ عَنكَ مُؤَنِّباً

وَتَسكُبَ دَمعاً حَيثُ لا يَنفَعُ الدَمعُ

وَتَسكُبَ دَمعاً حَيثُ لا يَنفَعُ الدَمعُ

so that it reports your negligence, reproaching you,

So He will tell of your shortcoming, blaming you

and you shed tears where tears are of no avail.

And you will shed tears where tears are of no avail

هُنالِكَ لا تَرجو صَريحاً مُزَعزِعاً

هُنالِكَ لا تَرجو صَريحاً مُزَعزِعاً

صُدورَ عَوالٍ فَوقَها لِلرَدى لَمعُ

صُدورَ عَوالٍ فَوقَها لِلرَدى لَمعُ

There you can hope for no trueborn warrior brandishing

There you will not hope for a crying outburst

the points of tall lances, above which death flashes.

Above steadfast breasts exposed to calamity
