    If people say about you what you dislike,

    then be patient—it will restore your enemy’s goodwill toward you.

    فَما لَهُم لا يَفتَرونَ عَلَيكا

    They have indeed spoken lies against God and fabricated falsehoods;

    so why should they not fabricate lies against you?

    And even if I became a thread, my smallness would not shield me

    from death, which sought out Amir and Sulayk.

    So leave night and day behind, departing contentedly to God,

    and do not bind defilements into your two worn garments.

    You have wearied of journeying upon your two exhausted mounts; so seek

    to dismount in the desert from your two camels.
