تَمَسَّكَ بِتَقوى اللَهِ لَستُ بِقائِلٍ

تَمَسَّكَ بِتَقوى اللَهِ لَستُ بِقائِلٍ

تَمُسَّك وَمَعنايَ السُوارُ وَلا المِسكُ

تَمُسَّك وَمَعنايَ السُوارُ وَلا المِسكُ

Hold fast to reverence for God; I am not saying

Hold fast to the fear of God, I am not one who speaks idly

“Adorn yourself,” meaning a bracelet or musk.

Hold fast, neither my bracelets nor my musk remain

وَمَن يَبلُ بِالدُنِّيا وَسوءِ فِعالِها

وَمَن يَبلُ بِالدُنِّيا وَسوءِ فِعالِها

فَلَيسَ لَهُ إِلّا التَعَبُّدُ وَالنُسكُ

فَلَيسَ لَهُ إِلّا التَعَبُّدُ وَالنُسكُ

Whoever is tried by the world and its evil deeds

And he who is stained by the world and its evil deeds

Has nothing but devotion and religious observance.

For him there is nothing left but worship and devotion
