God—there is no doubt of Him—remains veiled,
Yet manifest; and each is drawn toward its own nature.

The bitter colocynth does not know what cast its bitterness
Into it; nor does honey know that it has become sweet.

You asked me, and answering you proved beyond me;
Whoever claims to know has lied.
