أَتَحمِلُكَdoes she carry you? الحَصانُthe chaste woman وَأَنتَwhile you خالٍat leisure
أَتَحمِلُكَ الحَصانُ وَأَنتَ خالٍ
وَفيand in الهَيجاءِbattle يَحمِلُكَcarries you الحِصانُthe stallion
وَفي الهَيجاءِ يَحمِلُكَ الحِصانُ
Can the chaste woman bear you when you are alone?
Does the chaste woman carry you while you are at leisure,
Yet in the fray, the stallion bears you.
while in battle the stallion carries you?
تَصونُyou protect الخَيلَthe horses تَحتَكَbeneath you مِنfrom وَجاهاtheir hoof soreness
تَصونُ الخَيلَ تَحتَكَ مِن وَجاها
وَإِنand if جاءَcomes الحِمامُdeath فَماthen not تُصانُyou are protected
وَإِن جاءَ الحِمامُ فَما تُصانُ
You shield the horses beneath you from soreness of hoof,
You protect the horses beneath you from soreness in their hooves,
but if Death comes, you are not shielded.
yet if death comes, you will not be protected.
