مِنَ المَوتِ لَكِنَّ القَضاءَ الَّذي يُنَجّي
By your life, your steed did not save you in battle
By your life, your glance in battle
From death; rather, it is fate that saves.
Did not save you from death, but fate who saves.

So do not be a womanizer; and if you incline
So do not be submissive to women, and if you are weary
Toward them, then lend no ear to lute-string or cymbal.
Of them, then do not permit a submissive man, nor pale woman

Nor approach the red wine, offspring of the Zanj.
Nor go near the red woman the child of the black man.
