ماnot زالَتِceased الروحُthe soul قَبلَbefore اليَومِtoday فيin دَعَةٍease
حَتّىuntil اِستَقَرَّتsettled بِحُكمِby the decree of اللَهِGod فيin الجَسَدِthe body
Before today, the soul had always been at ease,
until, by God's decree, it settled in the body.
فَالآنَso now تِلكَthat one (the soul) وَهَذاand this one (the body) مِنfrom قَذىًgrit وَأَذىًand harm
لاnot يُخلِيانِكَthe two leave you free بَلهَlet alone الغِلِّrancor وَالحَسَدِand envy
Now, from grit and harm, that soul and this body
give you no respite—let alone from rancor and envy.

The base man said to wealth, through which he had gained eminence:
“I shall surely honor you; without you, I would not have gained eminence.”
