يُسيءُ اِمرُؤٌ مِنّا فَيُبغَضُ دائِماً

يُسيءُ اِمرُؤٌ مِنّا فَيُبغَضُ دائِماً

وَدُنياكَ ما زالَت تُسيءُ وَتومَقُ

وَدُنياكَ ما زالَت تُسيءُ وَتومَقُ

A man among us does wrong and is forever hated;

One of us acts badly, so he is constantly hated

Yet your world never ceases to do wrong, and is cherished.

And your world continues to act badly and is despised

أَسَرَّ هَواها الشَيخُ وَالكَهلُ وَالفَتى

أَسَرَّ هَواها الشَيخُ وَالكَهلُ وَالفَتى

بِجَهلٍ فَمِن كُلِّ النَواظِرِ تُرمَقُ

بِجَهلٍ فَمِن كُلِّ النَواظِرِ تُرمَقُ

The old man, the middle-aged man, and the youth have concealed their love for her,

Her love captivated the old man, the grown man and the youth

In ignorance; thus all eyes gaze upon her.

With ignorance, so she is glared at by all eyes

وَما هِيَ أَهلٌ أَن يُؤَهَّلَ مِثلُها

وَما هِيَ أَهلٌ أَن يُؤَهَّلَ مِثلُها

لِوُدٍّ وَلَكِن اِبنَ آدَمَ أَحمَقُ

لِوُدٍّ وَلَكِن اِبنَ آدَمَ أَحمَقُ

Nor does she deserve that her like be deemed worthy

And she is not worthy for someone like her to be loved

Of love; but the son of Adam is a fool.

But the son of Adam is a fool
