وَكَيفَand how لَهاfor her أَنَّthat اللُجَينَsilver لَجينُpounded leaf-fodder
وَكَيفَ لَها أَنَّ اللُجَينَ لَجينُ
A lean, narrow-eyed she-camel has indeed balked with the wealth;
And how could she know that silver is leaf-fodder?

We are sons of this dust, so do not spend the night
Secretly nursing anguish at being called baseborn.

وَكُلُّ اِبنِ أُنثى في التُرابِ سَجينُ
My life is torment, and my death is rest;
And every woman's son is a prisoner in the dust.

Is my grave, where I shall dwell, in a hollow or on stony high ground?
For human skin is battered.
