We bid you farewell, our beloved ones,

We bid you farewell, our loved ones, a brief goodbye

with a return to you within six at most.

Just six days until we return

نودعكم وفي الأحشاء منا

نودعكم وفي الأحشاء منا

أجيج الشوق يلتذع التذاعا

أجيج الشوق يلتذع التذاعا

We bid you farewell, while within our entrails

We bid you farewell, though in our hearts

the blaze of longing burns with searing heat.

Yearning burns, spreading its glow

نودعكم وفي الوجنات هام

نودعكم وفي الوجنات هام

أبي الدمع منحدراً تداعى

أبي الدمع منحدراً تداعى

We bid you farewell, while on our cheeks a flowing tear

We bid you farewell, though tears well up

from one loath to weep comes cascading down.

Flowing down our cheeks continuously

نراعيكم على قرب وبعد

نراعيكم على قرب وبعد

ومثلكمو أحق بأن يراعى

ومثلكمو أحق بأن يراعى

We hold you in regard, whether near or far,

We think of you both near and far

and those like you are most deserving of regard.

And none deserve thought more than you

أراع اللَه قلباً غير راع

أراع اللَه قلباً غير راع

حفاظكم ولا بكم أراعا

حفاظكم ولا بكم أراعا

May God frighten a heart that does not honor

May God guard a heart other than one that guards you

your bond; may He never bring you fear.

And cares for you and for none but you

نودعكم أحبتنا ونرجو

نودعكم أحبتنا ونرجو

على إثر الوداع نرى اجتماعا

على إثر الوداع نرى اجتماعا

We bid you farewell, our beloved ones, and hope

We bid you farewell, our loved ones, and hope

to see reunion follow close upon farewell.

After this parting to meet again soon

ولولا حب بيت اللَه ما إن

ولولا حب بيت اللَه ما إن

نوينا عن مقاربكم نزاعا

نوينا عن مقاربكم نزاعا

And were it not for love of God's House, we would never

And were it not for love of God's house, we would not

have intended to leave your side.

Have chosen to part from you for a moment

سألنا اللَه يرجعنا إليكم

سألنا اللَه يرجعنا إليكم

وقد نلنا المراد به سراعا

وقد نلنا المراد به سراعا

We have asked God to bring us back to you,

We asked God to return us to you

once we have swiftly attained our aim through Him.

And swiftly grant us this wish

سنذكركم بمكة في المساعي

سنذكركم بمكة في المساعي

فتوسعكم موقيتاً وساعا

فتوسعكم موقيتاً وساعا

We shall remember you in Mecca during the rites,

We will remember you in Mecca during the Sa'y

so may you be granted ample spans of time [uncertain reading].

So expand for us our time and hours

ونطلب ربنا لكمو رضاه

ونطلب ربنا لكمو رضاه

ونطلب أحمداً لكم الشفاعا

ونطلب أحمداً لكم الشفاعا

And we ask our Lord to grant you His favor,

And we ask our Lord to be pleased with you

and ask Ahmad for intercession on your behalf.

And we ask Ahmad to intercede for you

ونطلب منكم الدعوات يكما

ونطلب منكم الدعوات يكما

بها في القصد ننتفع انتفاعا

بها في القصد ننتفع انتفاعا

And we ask you for prayers, so that

we may truly benefit from them in our undertaking.

Through them we may benefit

وألف تحية منا عليكم

كنثر الروض أو كالمسك ضاعا

And a thousand greetings from us be upon you,

A thousand greetings from us to you

like strewn garden blossoms, or musk wafting its fragrance.

Scattered like roses or musk cast about
