يا من تفرد بالإجلال والكرم

والحمد والمجد والتنزيه والعظم

O You who alone possess majesty and generosity,

and praise, glory, transcendence, and greatness.

يا معدم الشيء موجود بقدرته

ومحدث الشيء موجود من العدم

O You who, by Your power, annihilate an existing thing,

and bring a thing into existence from nothing.

يا عالما لخفيات الذنوب ويا

سميع داعيه إسراراً بلا كلم

O Knower of hidden sins, and O

Hearer of whoever calls upon Him secretly, without words.

يا من إذا ما دجى التمام يرى

فيه دبيب قطار النمل في الظلم

O You who, when darkness falls completely, see

within it the creeping of a file of ants in the gloom.

يا خالق الخلق ملقياً بعشته

ويا مغذي جنين البطن في الرحم

O Creator of creation, laying it in its nest,

and O Nourisher of the child in the belly, within the womb.

يا من هو اللَه شيء لا يشابهه

شيء يضاهيه في الكونين في القدم

O You who are God, a being without likeness,

whom nothing in the two worlds equals in beginningless eternity.

يا غافر الذنب هب لي منك مغفرة

ونائلاً من جزير الفضل والنعم

O Forgiver of sin, grant me forgiveness from You,

and a gift from Your abundant bounty and blessings.

يا قابل التوب فاقبل توبتي فلقد

قابلت وجهك يا مولاي بالندم

O Accepter of repentance, accept my repentance, for indeed

I have faced You, my Master, with remorse.

لئن صفحت عن الجاني فذا أملي

وإن غضبت فلا جور فمن جرمي

If indeed You pardon the offender, that is my hope;

and if You are angry, there is no injustice—it is because of my wrongdoing.

بباب عفوك ألقيت العصي وذي

يدي رفت لنيل الصدق بالقدم

At the gate of Your pardon I have laid down the staffs, and this

hand of mine has quivered, seeking truth 'by the foot' [wording unclear].

أصبحت في هوة للذئب شائنة

فانعشني اللَه مذ زلت لها قدمي

I now lie in a hideous pit meant for the wolf;

so raise me up, O God, since my foot has slipped into it.

واجعل لديك رجائي غير منعكس

وحبل مسؤل مناي غير منصرم

And let my hope in You remain unthwarted,

and keep unbroken the cord of the wishes I ask for.
