بَةِ لا تُؤاتيني الهديَّهْ

I am indeed a man of upright disposition;

I am a man who turns away the harm

No gift comes my way

Of fate, no gift comes easily to me,

حتى أميلَ بفارسٍ

حتى أميلَ بفارسٍ

مَيْلَ الغَبيطِ عن الحَوِيَّهْ

مَيْلَ الغَبيطِ عن الحَوِيَّهْ

Until I topple a horseman,

Until with a gallant horseman I incline

As a camel-saddle tilts off its pad.

As the thrilled do from the abyss.
