قُم أَدِر نوراً مُبينا

قُم أَدِر نوراً مُبينا

ما تَرانا مُظلِمينا

ما تَرانا مُظلِمينا

Rise, pass around a radiant light.

Do you not see us in darkness?

وَاِقتُلِ الكَأسَ بِمَزجٍ

وَاِقتُلِ الكَأسَ بِمَزجٍ

تَقتُلِ الهَمِّ يَقينا

تَقتُلِ الهَمِّ يَقينا

And slay the cup’s wine by mixing it;

you will surely slay sorrow.

كَي أَرى الكَأسَ تُربِنا

كَي أَرى الكَأسَ تُربِنا

دُرَراً مِمّا تُرينا

دُرَراً مِمّا تُرينا

So I may see the cup enrich us

with pearls from what it shows us.

مِن يَدَي ساقٍ سُقينا

مِن يَدَي ساقٍ سُقينا

مِن لَماهُ ما سُقينا

مِن لَماهُ ما سُقينا

From a cupbearer’s hands we were given drink;

from his dark lips we were not.

إِنَّها لَمّا رَأَتهُ

إِنَّها لَمّا رَأَتهُ

عَرِقَت مِنهُ جَبينا

عَرِقَت مِنهُ جَبينا

Indeed, when it saw him,

its brow broke into sweat because of him.
