No illness has afflicted your body; rather, health
Your body knew no illness, only health
Has robed you in its gold for the beholder.
Which cast its radiance upon you for all to see

If one finds fault with your paleness, say to him
Can anything be nobler than al-Nasir’s emblem?
Can there be anything nobler than the banner of An-Nasir?

Sweat that flowed as a river, revived by it
Like a sheet of paper cast into a mighty river.
Like a parchment cast into the hands of an infidel

Has Sumayra touched him, bringing him harm?
A night journey that harmed it
Keep away from him—no touching for a Samiri!
Beware of it, let no touch of an obstinate one come upon it
