رُبَّmany a وَعدِpromise مِنكَfrom you جِئتُI came إِلىto
رُبَّ وَعدِ مِنكَ جِئتُ إِلى
نَيلِهِits fulfillment جَهراًopenly فَلَمyet did not أَجِدِI find
نَيلِهِ جَهراً فَلَم أَجِدِ
Many a promise of yours I came to
see fulfilled openly, yet found nothing.
ماnot لِوَعدِfor a promise بَينَناbetween us عَمَلٌeffect
ما لِوَعدِ بَينَنا عَمَلٌ
إِنif نَوَيتَyou intend النُجحَsuccess لاdo not تَعِدِyou promise
إِن نَوَيتَ النُجحَ لا تَعِدِ
A promise between us has no effect.
If you intend success, do not promise.
