1. لَقَد سالَمَتنا صُروفُ الزَمانِ

    وَما بَرِحَت قَبلَها عانِدَه

    Indeed, the vicissitudes of time have made peace with us,

    Though before this they had never ceased to be hostile.

  2. وَأَمطَرتَ نَوءَ النَدى دائِماً

    فَهُزَّت بِهِ أَرضُنا الهامِدَه

    And you have poured down the rain of generosity unceasingly,

    So our lifeless earth was stirred by it.

  3. وَأَسهَرتَ عَينَكَ لِلمَكرُماتِ

    فَأَقرَرتَ أَعيُنَنا الهاجِدَه

    And you kept your eye awake for noble deeds,

    So you brought comfort to our slumbering eyes.

  4. وَأَطفَت حَرارَةَ آمالِنا

    مَغانِمُ إِحسانِكَ البارِدَه

    And the heat of our hopes was quenched

    By the cool gains of your kindness.

  5. وَبَوَّأَكَ الجودُ يَااِبنَ الكِرامِ

    نَجائِبَ أَقوالِنا الخالِدَه

    And generosity, O son of the noble, has seated you

    Upon the choice mounts of our immortal words.

  6. فَكَم نِعمَةٍ مَدَّها مِثلُها

    وَفائِدَةٍ بَعدَها فائِدَه

    And how many a blessing has been extended by another like it,

    And a benefit followed by yet another benefit!
