ذَهَبَ الَّذينَ يُعاشُ في أَكنافِهِم

ذَهَبَ الَّذينَ يُعاشُ في أَكنافِهِم

وَبَقيَ الَّذينَ يُنالُ في أَكتافِهِم

وَبَقيَ الَّذينَ يُنالُ في أَكتافِهِم

Gone are those in whose shelter one could live;

Those in whose arms one found comfort are gone

And those whose shoulders are assailed remain.

And those upon whose shoulders one could lean remain
