لا تَحسَبَنَّ البُعدَ غَيَّرَني

لا تَحسَبَنَّ البُعدَ غَيَّرَني

وَالبُعدُ غَيرُ مُغَيِّرٍ عَهدي

وَالبُعدُ غَيرُ مُغَيِّرٍ عَهدي

Do not think that distance has changed me;

Do not think distance changed me

and distance does not alter my pledge.

For distance cannot change my promise

فَإِذا الَّذي حَسُنَت مُوَدَّتُهُ

فَإِذا الَّذي حَسُنَت مُوَدَّتُهُ

بِالقُربِ ضاعَفَها عَلى البُعدِ

بِالقُربِ ضاعَفَها عَلى البُعدِ

So behold: he whose affection was true

When one whose love was beautiful up close

in closeness doubles it at a distance.

From afar grows twice as strong
