غُضَّ عَيناً عَلى القَذى

غُضَّ عَيناً عَلى القَذى

وَتَصَبَّر عَلى الأَذى

وَتَصَبَّر عَلى الأَذى

Close an eye to the mote,

Turn a blind eye to faults

Close your eye to the speck of dust,

and patiently endure harm.

And be patient with harm

And endure the harm with patience,

إِنَّما الدَهرُ ساعَةً

إِنَّما الدَهرُ ساعَةً

يَقطَعُ الدَهرُ كُلُّ ذا

يَقطَعُ الدَهرُ كُلُّ ذا

Life is but an hour;

For time is but an hour

For time is but a fleeting hour,

time cuts all this short.

Time severs all

And time will sever all of this.
