أَلا صاحِبَ الذَنبِ لا تَقنُطَنَ

أَلا صاحِبَ الذَنبِ لا تَقنُطَنَ

فَإِنَّ الإِلَهَ رَؤوفٌ رَؤوفُ

فَإِنَّ الإِلَهَ رَؤوفٌ رَؤوفُ

Take heed, O bearer of sin: never despair.

O companion of sin! Despair not,

O bearer of sin, do not ever despair,

For God is compassionate, compassionate.

For God is merciful and kind.

For the Divine is Compassionate, Compassionate indeed,

وَلا تَرحَلَنَّ بِلا عِدَةٍ

وَلا تَرحَلَنَّ بِلا عِدَةٍ

فَإِنَّ الطَريقَ مَخُوفٌ مَخُوفُ

فَإِنَّ الطَريقَ مَخُوفٌ مَخُوفُ

And never depart without provisions,

Do not set out without provision,

And do not depart without your provision,

For the road is fearsome, fearsome.

For the road is fraught with danger.

For the path ahead is perilous, perilous indeed.
