أَلا اِحذَروا في حَربِكُم أَبا الحَسَن

أَلا اِحذَروا في حَربِكُم أَبا الحَسَن

فَلا تَروموهُ فَذا مِنَ الغبَن

فَلا تَروموهُ فَذا مِنَ الغبَن

Take heed! In your war, beware of Abu al-Hasan.

Beware in your war of Abu Al-Hasan

Beware, in your war, of Abu al-Hasan;

So do not seek him out, for that is folly.

Do not seek to fight him, for that is folly

Do not seek to challenge him, for that is an act of folly.

فَإِنَّهُ يَدُقُّكُم دَقَّ الطَحن

فَإِنَّهُ يَدُقُّكُم دَقَّ الطَحن

وَلا يَخافُ في الهياجِ مَن وَمَن

وَلا يَخافُ في الهياجِ مَن وَمَن

For he will pound you as grain is ground.

For he will crush you with the crushing of a mill

For he will surely crush you as the millstone grinds the grain,

And in the tumult of battle, he fears neither this man nor that.

And does not fear in battle whoever threatens

And in the heat of battle, he fears no man, whoever he may be.
