قَد يَعلَمُ الناسَ أَنّا خَيرُهُم نَسَبا

قَد يَعلَمُ الناسَ أَنّا خَيرُهُم نَسَبا

وَنَحنُ أَفخَرَهُم بَيتاً إِذا فَخِروا

وَنَحنُ أَفخَرَهُم بَيتاً إِذا فَخِروا

People surely know that we are the best among them in lineage.

People may know that we are the best of them in lineage

The people surely know that we are the noblest of them in lineage,

And ours is the noblest house among them when they boast.

And we are the proudest of them in house if they are proud

And that ours is the most glorious house whenever men boast.

رَهطُ النَبِيِّ وَهُم مَأَوى كَرامَتِهِ

رَهطُ النَبِيِّ وَهُم مَأَوى كَرامَتِهِ

وَناصِرو الدينِ وَالمَنصورُ مَن نَصَروا

وَناصِرو الدينِ وَالمَنصورُ مَن نَصَروا

The Prophet’s clan, and they are the abode of his honor.

The family of the Prophet, and they are the refuge of his prestige

The kinsfolk of the Prophet, and the sanctuary of his honor,

And supporters of the faith; victorious is whoever they have supported.

And the supporters of religion, and the victorious are those they supported

Defenders of the Faith; and victorious is the one whom they aid.

وَالأَرضُ تَعلَمُ أَنّا خَيرُ ساكِنِها

وَالأَرضُ تَعلَمُ أَنّا خَيرُ ساكِنِها

كَما بِهِ تَشهَدُ البَطحاءُ وَالمَدَرُ

كَما بِهِ تَشهَدُ البَطحاءُ وَالمَدَرُ

And the earth knows that we are the best of its inhabitants.

And the land knows that we are the best of its inhabitants

The earth itself knows that we are the best of its dwellers,

Just as al-Bathāʾ and the clods of earth bear witness to it.

As Al-Bat'ha and Al-Mudar testify to it

Just as the Meccan valley and the settled lands bear witness.

وَالبَيتُ ذو السِترِ لَو شاؤوا تُحَدِّثُهُم

وَالبَيتُ ذو السِترِ لَو شاؤوا تُحَدِّثُهُم

نادى بِذَلِكَ رُكنُ البَيتِ وَالحَجَرُ

نادى بِذَلِكَ رُكنُ البَيتِ وَالحَجَرُ

And the veiled House, if they wished, would speak to them.

And the house with curtains, if they willed, would tell them

And the Draped House, were they to wish it, would speak to them,

The corner of the House and the Stone proclaimed this.
