يا أَيُّها السائِلُ عَن أَصحابي

يا أَيُّها السائِلُ عَن أَصحابي

إِن كُنتَ تَبغي خَيرَ الصَوابِ

إِن كُنتَ تَبغي خَيرَ الصَوابِ

O you who ask about my companions,

O seeker who asks of my companions

O you who asks regarding my companions,

If you seek the soundest judgment,

If you wish to know what is right

If you truly seek the most accurate answer,

أُنبِئكَ عَنهُم غَيرَ ما تَكذابِ

أُنبِئكَ عَنهُم غَيرَ ما تَكذابِ

بِأَنَّهُم أَوعِيَةُ الكِتابِ

بِأَنَّهُم أَوعِيَةُ الكِتابِ

I shall tell you of them, without falsehood,

I will tell you of them, no lies

I shall inform you of them untainted by untruth:

That they are vessels of the Book,

They are vessels of the Book

That they are the true vessels of the Book,

صَبرٌ لَدى الهَيجاءِ وَالضِّرابِ

صَبرٌ لَدى الهَيجاءِ وَالضِّرابِ

فَسَل بِذاكَ مَعشَرَ الأَحزابِ

فَسَل بِذاكَ مَعشَرَ الأَحزابِ

Steadfast in battle and the exchange of blows.

Patience in the face of calamity and harm

Steadfast in the heat of battle and the striking of blows,

So ask the confederate host about that.

Ask of them, the group of factions

So ask the assembly of the Clans about that.
