O Scribe, whatever you write

is recorded against you.

Is recorded upon you

Is written as a record against you;

فَاِجعَلِ المَكتوبَ خَيراً

فَاِجعَلِ المَكتوبَ خَيراً

فَهوَ مَردودٌ إِلَيك

فَهوَ مَردودٌ إِلَيك

So make what is written good,

So make what you write good

So make the written word good,

for it is returned to you.

For it will be returned to you

For it shall be returned to you.
