O my two eyes, shed tears—may God bless you both—
My eyes have been generous, may Allah bless you both
O my eyes, weep generously—may God bless you both,
For two departed ones, whose like you will not see:
Do not look upon those two who have no equal
For two departed ones whose equal you will never behold,

For the lord of al-Batha and son of its chief,
Upon the master of Al-Baṭḥā’ and his chief’s son
For the Master of Al-Batha and the son of its chieftain,
And the lady of women, the first to pray.
And the mistress of women, the first in prayer
And the Lady of all women, the very first to pray,

Refined, God has made her nature pure;
Refined, whom Allah has perfumed her tent
Refined she was, her nature purified by God,
Blessed, and God bestowed bounty upon her.
Blessed, and Allah has granted her virtue
Blessed she was, for God drove all virtue toward her,

Indeed, they both upheld Muhammad's faith for God's sake,
They have supported in Allah the religion of Muḥammad
They both supported the religion of Muhammad for the sake of God,
Against those who transgressed in the faith; they both honored a bond of kinship.
Against those who rebelled in religion, they shepherded, except
Against those who transgressed in faith, they honored the sacred pact.
