لا تَظلِمَنَّ إِذا ما كُنتَ مُقتَدِراً

فَالظُلمُ مَرتَعُهُ يُفضي إِلى النَدَمِ

فَالظُلمُ مَرتَعُهُ يُفضي إِلى النَدَمِ

Never oppress when you have the power.

Do not oppress when you have power

Do not commit injustice whenever you possess the power,

For the pasture of injustice leads to regret.

For oppression will lead to regret

For the path of injustice leads ultimately to regret.

تَنامُ عَينُكَ وَالمَظلومُ مُنتَبِهٌ

تَنامُ عَينُكَ وَالمَظلومُ مُنتَبِهٌ

يَدعو عَلَيكَ وَعَينُ اللَهِ لَم تَنَمِ

يَدعو عَلَيكَ وَعَينُ اللَهِ لَم تَنَمِ

Your eye sleeps while the wronged one is awake,

You sleep with eyes closed while the oppressed keeps vigil

Your eyes sleep while the oppressed remains awake,

Praying against you, while God's eye has not slept.

Invoking curse on you as God's eyes never sleep

Praying against you, while the Eye of God never sleeps.
