إِذا لَم يَكُن عَونٌ مِنَ اللَهِ للِفَتى

إِذا لَم يَكُن عَونٌ مِنَ اللَهِ للِفَتى

فَأَكثَرُ ما يَجني عَلَيهِ اِجتِهادُهُ

فَأَكثَرُ ما يَجني عَلَيهِ اِجتِهادُهُ

If a young man has no help from God,

If help comes not to the youth from Allah,

If there is no assistance from God for the youth,

then his striving is what harms him most.

Then however hard he strives, mostly he reaps but sorrow.

The greatest source of his undoing is his own striving.
