سَأَمنَحُ مالي كُلَّ مَن جاءَ طالِباً

وَأَجعَلُهُ وَقفاً عَلى القَرضِ وَالفَرضِ

I shall bestow my wealth upon all who come seeking,

Dedicating it entirely to satisfy every loan and obligation;

فَإِما كَريمٌ صِنتُ بِالمالِ عِرضَهُ

وَإِمّا لَئيمٌ صِنتُ عِن لُؤمِهِ عَرضي

For either he is a noble man whose dignity I preserve with this wealth,

Or a scoundrel, against whose baseness I safeguard my own honor.
