أَريدُ بِذاكُم أَن تَهِشّوا لِطَلقَتي

أَريدُ بِذاكُم أَن تَهِشّوا لِطَلقَتي

وَأن تُكثِروا بِعدي الدُعاءَ عَلى قَبري

وَأن تُكثِروا بِعدي الدُعاءَ عَلى قَبري

By this I wish you to respond warmly to my cheerful face,

I want with that you hasten to my demise

I desire that you welcome my appearance with smiles,

And to offer many prayers over my grave after I am gone,

And that you increase after me prayers upon my grave

And that you offer frequent prayers over my grave after I am gone,

وَأَن تَمنَحوني في المَجالِسِ وُدَّكُم

وَأَن تَمنَحوني في المَجالِسِ وُدَّكُم

وَإِن كُنتُ عَنكُم غائِباً تُحسِنوا ذِكري

وَإِن كُنتُ عَنكُم غائِباً تُحسِنوا ذِكري

And to grant me your affection in gatherings,

And that you grant me in the gatherings your affection

And that you grant me your affection in the assemblies,

And, even if I am absent from you, to speak well of me.

And if I was from you absent you speak good of me

And should I be absent from you, that you speak well of my memory.
