Repeat to my ears some tales of the beloved,
I repeat the words of my beloved in my hearing,
and trace the accounts of passion back to my tears.
And I relate the tales of passion to my tears.

The sequence of those tears sent forth from the branches.

For the reports of my tears and sickness are sound;
So my tears' tales and my illness are truthful,
and is there any fabrication in the traditions of the two Sahihs?
And is there any fabrication in the correct narratives?

My illness from separation is not joined by healing,
Neither does my illness agree with separation's cure,
nor can my last breath in love be brought back.
Nor does my soul in love verify repeal.

I see my malady's origin a night whose branch
a dawn in which drawing down turns into lifting up.
Is dragged by a morn in which that dragging ends in raising.

A soft-voiced beloved, whose face's garden appeared luxuriant;
Does a gazelle whose pasture is minds, whose yard
so over it the bird of the heart sang in rhythmic coos.
Is an open space, and that turns to a still quarter, sing?

A gazelle whose pastures are minds, and whose abode
My patience was rent when it brought together his love,
lies in my breast's folds—alas for me, for the dweller there!
And separation did not return it to collecting.

My twofold patience scattered since I gathered love for him;
It permits my blood unjustly and prohibits his union.
and its scattering never returned to gathering.
So how confused am I between permitting and preventing!

The pillar of my patience weakens whenever he sings or gazes;
It intended separation, and made his union its string.
oh, my anguish if song comes from the valley's young gazelle!
And the string of the praying one in his heart without doubling.

ووترُ المصلي بالفؤاد بلا شفع
He intended a single prayer within my breast and offered it with modesty;
I armored myself in the war of passion to repel him
and the worshipper's single prayer in the heart has no paired prayer.
With a patience in which I felt secure from splitting.

with patience, secure within it for all time against a breach.

Then he unsheathed a sword from the cutting blades of his glance
He wants to pull him from my conscience,
and tore apart the armor I had made so strong.
And without him, to pull life itself is without pulling.

but taking my life would come sooner, without a dying struggle.

what a night! Its length exhausted my endurance.

So all the people drank from that uddershoot.

as he filled it with benefit from every field of learning.

so it was named 'the Green' because of that spring.

encompassing the glory he holds is beyond all power.
And wore asceticism toward base, fleeting world and contentment.

He adorned himself with reverence for God in every circumstance,
Hidden, his merit's fame crept among the people,
and with renunciation of the lowly world and contentment.

Fruits of righteousness are harvested from that cultivation.
