لاحت عليك من الأسرار أنوار

لاحت عليك من الأسرار أنوار

وطيبُ ذكرك فاحت منهُ أزهارُ

Lights from the mysteries have shone upon you,

Lights of secrets have shone upon you,

And blossoms have wafted their scent from the fragrance of your name.

And the mention of you has spread like flowers in bloom.

وأصبحت من أفانين الثّناء على

وأصبحت من أفانين الثّناء على

أفنان فضلك في الافاق أطيارُ

أفنان فضلك في الافاق أطيارُ

And now, from the varied arts of praise, upon

You have become the object of praise,

The boughs of your excellence across the horizons perch birds.

Your paramount virtues like birds across the horizons.

فأنت حليٌ بجيد الدّهر مُنتظمٌ

فأنت حليٌ بجيد الدّهر مُنتظمٌ

به وأنت له سمعٌ وأبصارُ

به وأنت له سمعٌ وأبصارُ

For you are an ornament at Time's neck, strung

You are the necklace adorning the age, ordained for it,

Upon it; and you are its hearing and its sight.

Its hearing and its sight.

عمرت قلبي بأسرار البيان فلم

عمرت قلبي بأسرار البيان فلم

أخشى عليه الخلا إذ أنت عمّارُ

أخشى عليه الخلا إذ أنت عمّارُ

You filled my heart with the secrets of eloquence, so I did not

You have filled my heart with the secrets of rhetoric,

Fear its desolation, since you are its builder.

So I fear no ruin for it since you are its restorer.
