إن يصطحب في الورى ذيابٌ

إن يصطحب في الورى ذيابٌ

قطاطة ما به ارتيابُ

قطاطة ما به ارتيابُ

If Dhiyab, among humankind, keeps company

If jackals walk this earth,

with Qatata, there is no doubt about it;

There is no room for doubt -

إذ جيفةُ البحر ريحها من

قطاطة مالها ذها ب

قطاطة مالها ذها ب

for the stench of sea carrion comes from

For the stench of the sea comes

Qatata, and never goes away.

From jackals, make no mistake,

ولا أرى جيفة بأرض

ولا أرى جيفة بأرض

إلا أتىنحوها ذبابُ

إلا أتىنحوها ذبابُ

And I see no carrion on the earth

And I see no carcass on land

without flies coming toward it.

That flies do not surround.
