تفوقُ طيور السما في المسير
By God, what a mule—she has come to
For Allah, what a she-camel that has become,
outstrip the birds of the sky in her travel!
Surpassing the birds of the sky in journeying.

تطيرُ على ظهرها بالغراب

كأنّ الغراب بها قد يطير
She flies with al-Ghurab (the Crow) on her back,
Upon her back the raven flies
as though al-Ghurab were indeed flying with her aid.
As though the raven itself with her might fly.

She carries the likes of us along, just as
She journeys with our likes, just as
through her all our proverbs may travel.
With her all our likes might journey.
