وأغيد في يده

وأغيد في يده

سبحةُ يسر مُعجبهْ

سبحةُ يسر مُعجبهْ

And a graceful youth had in his hand

In his hand he held

a pleasing rosary of yusr (black coral).

A rosary that pleased Yasir

فقال يسرٌ جاءنيْ

فقال يسرٌ جاءنيْ

منهُ ووصلٌ قرّبه

منهُ ووصلٌ قرّبه

Then he said, “Ease has come to me

So Yasir said it came to me

from him, and union has brought him near.”

From him, and connected us

فلام عنّي صاحبي

فلام عنّي صاحبي

وقال هذا مذنبه

وقال هذا مذنبه

Then my companion reproached him on my behalf,

But my friend blamed me

and said, “This is his wrongdoing:

And said this is his sin

ما هي للتْسبيح بل

ما هي للتْسبيح بل

يُحصي بها من عذّبه

يُحصي بها من عذّبه

it is not for glorifying God, but

It is not for praising God

with it he counts those he has tormented.”

But to count those he tortured
