لاح من الغربيّ ظبيٌ له

لاح من الغربيّ ظبيٌ له

شمسٌ محيّا منهُ محرُوس

شمسٌ محيّا منهُ محرُوس

A gazelle appeared from al-Gharbi, with

A gazelle appeared from the west

A sun for a face, guarded from him.

With a guarded rising sun within him

فقلتُ لهُ حان الحشرُ لمّا بدت

فقلتُ لهُ حان الحشرُ لمّا بدت

في المغرب الشّمس من السّوسي

في المغرب الشّمس من السّوسي

So I told him the hour of resurrection had come, when there appeared

So I said to him, when the sun appeared

In the west the sun from al-Susi.

In the west over Sous, it was time for the resurrection
