نَقيكَ الرَدى فيما نُجِنُّ وَما نُبدي

With our very lives—not with wealth newly won or inherited—

With our own lives, not with wealth newly gained or inherited,

we shield you from death, in all that we conceal and all that we reveal.

بِنا مَعشَرَ العافينَ ما بِكَ مِن أَذىً

بِنا مَعشَرَ العافينَ ما بِكَ مِن أَذىً

وَإِن أَشفَقوا مِنهُ تَحَمَّلتُهُ وَحدي

وَإِن أَشفَقوا مِنهُ تَحَمَّلتُهُ وَحدي

May every harm that touches you fall upon us, the company who seek your bounty;

May whatever harm afflicts you fall upon us, the seekers of bounty;

and if they shrink from it, I shall bear it alone.

And if they fear it, I will bear it alone.
