    أَجَلولا تَؤُمُّ أَم حُلوانا

    She passed Nahrabin and Nahrawan;

is it Jalula she heads for, or Hulwan?

I do not think separation will grant him nearness,

while the riding-camels have not yet shaken their girths.

Her hobbles came loose, and she swept forth like the

    wind, reckless, battering the lands.

She brought us to Hulwan at noon, and to Qarmisin

at night, and reached Hamadhan in the morning.

She gave us respite when we passed through Marw

and came to al-Raziq and al-Majan,

to greet the dwellings of Jahm and Idris

with good wishes, and inquire of the brethren.
