إِنَّما ذَنبي إِلَيهِنَّ المَشيبُ

إِنَّما ذَنبي إِلَيهِنَّ المَشيبُ

فَمَتى يَعفونَ أَم كَيفَ أَتوبُ

فَمَتى يَعفونَ أَم كَيفَ أَتوبُ

My only offense in their eyes is my gray hair.

So when will they forgive me, or how can I repent?

غابَ قاضٍ كانَ يَقضي بَينَنا

غابَ قاضٍ كانَ يَقضي بَينَنا

وَمِنَ الغُيّابِ مَن لَيسَ يَؤوبُ

وَمِنَ الغُيّابِ مَن لَيسَ يَؤوبُ

A judge who used to judge between us has gone away;

And among the absent is one who does not return.
