لا يَمنَعَنَّكَ خَفضُ العَيشِ تَطلُبُهُ

لا يَمنَعَنَّكَ خَفضُ العَيشِ تَطلُبُهُ

نُزوعُ نَفسٍ إِلى أَهلٍ وَأَوطانِ

نُزوعُ نَفسٍ إِلى أَهلٍ وَأَوطانِ

Do not let yourself be kept from the ease of life you seek

Let not the hard life keep you from pursuing it

by a soul’s longing for family and homelands.

Though yearning pulls you to kith and kin,

تَلَقّى بِكُلِّ بِلادِ إِن حَلَلَت بِها

تَلَقّى بِكُلِّ بِلادِ إِن حَلَلَت بِها

أَهلاً بِأَهلٍ وَجيراناً بِجيرانِ

أَهلاً بِأَهلٍ وَجيراناً بِجيرانِ

In every land, if you settle there, you will find

In every land you settle, make yourself at home

family in place of family, and neighbors in place of neighbors.
