Sol 6.1

  1. له فوق النجاد جفان شيزى

    ونار لا تضرم للصلاء

    He has bowls of shīzā wood upon the heights,

    and a fire kindled not for warmth,

  2. ولكن للطبيخ، وقد عراها

    طليح الهم مستلب الفراء

    but for cooking; and to it has come

    one worn down by care, stripped of his furs.

  3. وما غذيت بغير لظى، فنارى

    كمرتكم الغمامة ذي العفاء

    And I was nourished by nothing but flame; for my fire

    is like a massed cloud, rich in bounty.
