With him I charged—a blade polished on its flat and sharpened at its edge.

With a man of noble stock, consumed by love of glorious deeds.

His honor intact, his wealth scattered far and wide.

Of Quraysh, at the forefront of glory and among the illustrious nobles.

Their wont is to spear noble lords and ceaselessly bestow gifts.

And to wrest glory with long, ruthless hands.

And to lead sleek-coated horses, like wolves of the open desert.

They stumble over what sword-edges and spear-shafts have spewed out.

Amid dark battles and radiant faces.
